Treatment modalities:

In order to be sure you get the best care possible, I typically start out with a thorough biopsychosocial assessment early on in treatment. I want to understand your experiences from your perspective, and it is important to me that you feel understood, supported, and “heard”. I strive to treat every client with compassion, empathy, and what Carl Rogers called "unconditional positive regard".

I will collaborate with you to find the tools that are most effective for helping you on your journey to living to your potential.  Overall, my approach to therapy is holistic and focuses on the whole person - mind, body, and soul.  I have extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy , which can be effective in helping people to better understand the role that their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions play in their functioning. This approach to therapy provides patients with tools that will help them to confidently face life’s obstacles. Additionally, I have found Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to be an invaluable therapy, especially for trauma, and I receive ongoing EMDR training through the Institute for Creative Mindfulness. Another modality I typically incorporate is Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy, which uses deep relaxation and guided imagery during the treatment process. I earned my advanced certification in hypnotherapy through the Wellness Institute (Issaquah, Washington) at the Cleveland Clinic.  I also work within the lens of energy psychology, and I earned my Advanced Practitioner certification from the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), a promising new treatment that incorporates cognitive behavioral methods with mind-body tools for healing.
